Lady Eagles Fall to NCAA DI Southern Utah in Season Opener
Bookmark and Share
NCAA DI school Southern Utah University was just too much for the ERAU Lady Eagles to handle Wednesday afternoon.  "They are very well organized and capitalized on thier opportunities", said ERAU Head Coach Todd Poitras following his team's opening game for the 2010 regular season.  He went on to add, "The scoreline is a little mis-leading, because we actually created our fair share of chances.  If we could've perhaps converted one or two of those chances, things may have unfolded differently."  One of the major obstacles the Lady Eagles faced was the tremendous play of SUU's goalkeeper Charly Booth, who turned away 9 quality chances taken by ERAU.   Individually, the Lady Eagles had some nice performances of their own.  Despite not being able to tally a goal against the Sunbirds, the team got some quality minutes from senior midfielder Julie Falsken and sophomore forward Whitney Desmarais.  Defensively, senior Brittany Murillo single-handedly saved ERAU with a couple of clearances right off the Lady Eagles goal line.  A chance at redemtion comes quickly for the ladies though, as they will face William Penn University in their home opener this Friday at 6PM.  The game takes place as part of orientation weekend, and the Lady Eagles would love your suppot!
