Incoming Grappler, Jake Dempsey, becomes Greco All-American
Soon to be Freshman, Jake Dempsey, proves he can throw with the best of them as he earns a spot on the All-American platform at the 2009 Junior National Greco-Roman Championships in Fargo, ND on July 21, 2009. Jake had a solid showing with a 6-2 record at the 189 lb. weight class. He is expected to wrestle at 197 this coming season.
Jake ended the tournament in 5th place, a feat his future coaches are very excited about. Of his performance Coach Ramsey remarked, "It's great to see that Jake is able to get the job done on the National level. We are expecting him to step in at the 197 lb. spot this season and I think he can have immediate success. I am sure this will boost his confidence and help him get to where he wants to be next season. It's always great to see incoming recruits wrestling and competing at the highest level during the summer, and it gives me a confidence that Jake will do whatever it takes to succeed."
